A beautiful and intimate wedding day at York Registry office
I have so many words to describe this day, it’s hard to pick which one to start with. It has been one of my favorite days so far this year. The weather was perfect and the sun was finally shining. As soon as Nicola stepped out of that incredible vintage car, it was as though she stepped into the spotlight like a Hollywood filmstar. So much elegance!
Nicola and Paul decided, after 14 years together, to finally get hitched. They wanted a small and intimate day, with their closet family members. It felt truly special to be there to capture it and be part of their day.
I love York Registry Office for so many reasons. The building is stunning and with a recent refurbishment inside it’s even prettier. The gardens are perfect for group photos. The location is perfect, Bootham seems to have a real high-class, inner city vibe to it. To top it off, you can see the Minster, which is just a 5 minute walk away.
Which is where we headed after the ceremony for some photos of the newlyweds. I think those images speak for themselves and when I got a message from Paul & Nicola a few days later, thanking me for being part of their day, well I think I adore these images even more.

They held their wedding breakfast at the incredible Arras, if you haven’t eaten here, you should. Their food is second to none and the service is superb.
