Thinking of booking a last minute wedding photographer? Read the story of Mike and Sarah’s big day.
No fuss, just fun. These guys do everything in style and totally effortlessly, it’s wonderful. I kinda wished I was a bridesmaid at their wedding because they were fun, friendly and fearless. Sarah is such a free spirit and Mike adores her.
Absolutely dreading the idea of having a camera shoved in their face, Sarah and Mike had decided not to book a photographer.
With one week to go a friend threw a spanner in the works, pointing out that not all photographers are so invasive. She told the story of how important her wedding photos were to her. Images of your friends and family enjoying a day you’ve put your heart and soul into, is something truly special.
After meeting with me, they realised that a non-traditional, laid back photographer was something that they could definitely warm to. When I explained that my approach to wedding photography was relaxed, natural and friendly they started to feel at ease with the idea. They understood that my documentary style would allow me to simply capture the moments as they unfold, with no awkward posing necessary. So they booked me, yey!
I had an awesome time photographing their wedding at the stunning and stylish Barmbyfield Barns. With exposed bricks, hay bales and a rope swing, what more could you want from a summer wedding?! It was both hilarious and loveable. The atmosphere was infectious and I found myself in the middle of the dancefloor happily snapping away.
I can’t help but smile when I look through the photos.
Mike & Sarah, you rocked your wedding.
